Here's a lovely, small Dolphin figurine designed by celebrated NewYork sculptor Joseph Addotta. Measures about 2 3/4" tall to top of fin, 2 5/8" front to back, Brass dolphin has a nice patina. The cresting ocean wave has what looks to be an "applied" verdigris. Handcast and Hand finished by Hamilton Studios, Santa Barbara. Joseph Addotta was originally born in New York, but now creates in his Southern California studio. Beginning as a jeweler, Mr. Addotta spent years studying traditional techniques of metal smithing, here in the United States as well as in Europe. He eventually moved into sculpture, using the Lost Wax Technique of casting, designing and creating for numerous collectors, galleries, fine stores and museums. Among the clients of Mr Addotta have been Gumps, Neiman Marcus, the Nature Company, The Southbay Galerie, Hamilton Studios, Natural Wonders and some of the most discriminating collectors throughout the world. This award winning artist has been included in many fine exhibitions.. Conceived in genius, formed by hand and preserved in metal, these artistic achievements have acquired international acclaim.
